13th Day – 25th July 1957
We set off this morning in the rain again but it cleared up about 10 o’clock and has been nice since then.
We drove through Brussels onto the Autobahn and drove to Ghent where we parked the car and had a look at the shops. We had a coffee in a café on the pavement opposite the cathedral. We went on after that to Bruges where we arrived about 1.30.
We got fixed up in an Hotel then went and had lunch of soup, steak and chips. Very good.
We had a walk round the shops then Harry took us a run round the town along the river, then we had a milk shake in a café on the pavement in the main Square where we sat about 1½ hours just watching the people & cars pass by, then we went back to the Hotel to get dressed for the evening.
We went out again to the town and went to the same place for dinner where we had soup, steak & chips and sweet and then went back to our Hotel and played cards and had a drink.
The weather stayed dry.
