Born in Zamosc, in Russian Poland, Rosa Luxemburg was a German revolutionary leader, journalist, and socialist theorist. In Poland, Luxemburg co-founded "The Workers' Cause", a socialist newspaper. She later co-founded the Sparticus League in 1916, which became the German Communist Party two years later.
Luxemburg was murdered in 1919.
